I am an Assistant Professor of Special Education at SUNY Oneonta in the Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Special Education department. I attended Arizona State University where I earned my Bachelors degree, I earned my Masters and Doctoral degrees in Special Education at Northern Arizona University. Prior to earning my doctorate, I taught in a fully inclusive elementary school setting in Arizona. I also taught a cross categorical program for students with emotional disabilities. Prior to my teaching career, I was a corporate trainer for Cox Communications. My research focuses on issues related to teacher education and preparation. I am also interested in high incidence disabilities, early literacy, and professional development in special education. Currently, I teach coursework in a variety of areas, including, Introduction to Special Education, Assistive Technology, Communications, Classroom Management, Early Childhood, and Childhood Special Education Courses. Prior to earning my doctorate, I taught in a middle school in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. As a special educator, I co-taught all four subject areas across 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. While teaching, I earned my master’s degree as a reading specialist from Loyola College in Baltimore, MD. Contact Information
