Description:The Fifth Industrial Revolution (IR), also known as Industry 5.0, is a new phase of industrialization in which people collaborate with modern technology and AI-powered robots to improve workplace operations. Understandably, many organizations have implemented tech-driven improvements at a quick speed in the last two years since services offering Industry 5.0 result in more effective performance and cost. Because society is adopting technological innovation at an unprecedented rate, organizations must follow the pace and adapt. To put it into context, mindsets are evolving so swiftly that major company-wide changes can occur within a year.

The conference aims to discuss and address the ongoing trends, progress, and challenges of the impact of the fifth IR and how it becomes relevant to Asian special libraries. The conference brings together experts, practitioners, and educators in the field to find ways in improving the library and information sectors' daily operations, processes, collections, services, and programs. It will also be a venue for researchers and scholars to review the LIS curriculum and pedagogy and align it with the current needs and competencies needed by librarians and information professionals living toward the fifth IR.

Theme ICoASL is where the latest trends and successful cases of special libraries are shared. The 2021 conference will discuss all aspects of special libraries such as: the proposal of innovation to turn the crisis of COVID-19 into a leap of opportunity in the wake of the social changes caused by the pandemic, suggestion of new policies to prepare for a new future, and cases of successful outcomes in special libraries.
