The Baddour Center, Inc., (TBC) is a model residential community in North West Mississippi (30 minutes from Memphis, TN / 45 minutes from Oxford, MS) that serves adults with intellectual disabilities,developmental disabilities and autism. We are hiring a full-time staff person to join our Advancement team to coordinate our Community Relations activities..
Shift: Primarily Monday through Friday, hours may vary depending on activities planned. Very occasional weekend events. Light travel required
Scopeand/or Purpose: Responsible for coordinating TBC’s fundraising events and managing the volunteer program. Work involves planning and executing all aspects of four core established events, assessing effectiveness and relevance of each event and implementing strategies to improve them. Responsible for identifying volunteer opportunities and recruiting first time volunteers for program while maintaining established volunteer groups by sharing information and scheduling their work days / projects.
The essential job duties for this position are coordinating events and TBC’s volunteer program. This position supports the overall fundraising goals and helps to extend the Center’s impact by educating volunteers about TBC’s mission to help our residents live their best life as they learn, work, worship and play. This position is responsible for outreach to donors and partners, many of whom also have family members who live at TBC.
Knowledge,skills and abilities:
Preferred: Three or more years of experience with an established non-profit fundraising / public relations / marketing team. Bachelor’s degree.
Required: One year of experience with an established non-profit fundraising / public relations / marketing team or an internship. Bachelor’s degree.
Marketing and public speaking experience is required.
Must have experience with donor software (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
Must have computer skills, have experience with Microsoft Office suite
Successful candidate will have the ability to handle many tasks at once, be responsible for meeting various deadlines in all aspects of managing event and volunteerism activities.
Must be able to relate to TBC’s families and residents,employees and board members..
Must have successfully worked with a team to achieve results from a work plan.
Must be able to assist other team members as needed with fundraising activities.
Must be at least 25 and have a clear background check and driving record.
