OVERVIEW: THE CAMPBELL CLINIC FOUNDATION

The mission of The Campbell Clinic Foundation is to enhance the quality of life for our patients through the science of orthopaedic medicine, with a strong commitment to education, research, and community healthcare. The Campbell Clinic Foundation is affiliated with Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics. Campbell Clinic is a national leader in sports medicine, pediatric orthopaedics, joint replacement, orthopaedic oncology, orthopaedic trauma, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and surgery of the hand, hip, foot, knee, shoulder and spine. The Campbell team is dedicated to sustaining Dr. Willis Campbell’s vision and life’s work of advancing orthopaedics and caring for people in our community and around the globe. The position will be based in Germantown, TN.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Campbell Clinic Foundation exists to move lives: The lives of the people we train, treat and serve. For more than 75 years, we have excelled in surgeon education, clinical research and community outreach. Now we are looking to build our team with a driven fundraising leader to increase annual giving, deepen alumni engagement and strengthen industry investment. In partnership with the Foundation Executive Director, the Development Officer develops and implements strategies, fosters relationships for donor recruitment and retention. The officer will expand development efforts to support the Foundation’s future program growth, by cultivating and stewarding gifts; securing event and program sponsorships, foundation grants; and securing major and planned gifts.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  1. Enhances and grows annual leadership gift program which includes personalized cultivation and solicitation of donations among Campbell residency and fellowship alumni, patients, community members and industry partners
  2. Develop and implement thoughtful and creative strategies to diversify individual donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, acknowledgement, recognition and retention
  3. Solicit, secure and steward corporate sponsorships
  4. Facilitates direct mail and digital fundraising campaigns, solicitation letters and other communication materials to cultivate new donors and renew and upgrade current donors; accompanies and assists volunteers with solicitations of assigned prospects that include annual giving; will assist as appropriate with major and planned gift prospects
  5. Propose and prepare grants to solicit corporation and foundation sponsorships and program funding
  6. Leverage Campbell Foundation Board of Trustees and other advisory bodies to assist with fundraising efforts and identifying new prospects
  7. Facilitates Momentum Society marketing, fundraising and volunteer engagement among Campbell Clinic employees 
  8. Leads planning, design and fundraising for Coordinates Campbell Clinic Foundation special events, including Footprints in Motion, Campbell Club Triennial and Alvin J. Ingram Memorial Lecture
  9. Manage Willis C. Campbell Club Alumni Association, including meetings, special events and alumni engagement and communication
  10. Compiles and utilizes donor, financial and statistical data and other reports as assigned or requested
  11. Plans and prepare donor recognition for websites, digital marketing and collateral to acknowledge donors
  12. Partner with Foundation team members in special project based work and other duties as assigned
  13. Regular and predictable attendance
  14. Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Bachelor's Degree required.  Master's Degree preferred. 

Experience: 5 years minimum successful experience in alumni relations, sales, development office administration or comparable relationship-building experience required.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills are required in MS Office applications, donor software/ database applications, and programs used to develop presentations and communication materials.
